1 thing I'1000 guessing is that a lot of people are choosing to side wi the Volkihar Vampires over the Dawnguard because they tin get a Vampire Lord. While many of yous probably already know this, but for those of you that don't, yous volition be entering the Soul Cenotaph regardless of which side you lot choose. In add-on, you tin't enter the Soul Cairn unless you're one of the undead. So, if y'all sided with the Dawnguard, so in one case you open the portal to the Soul Cairn, Serana tells you that she either has to trap some of your soul inside of a soul precious stone to allow passage into the Soul Cairn, which would slightly weaken yous, or she tin can turn you lot into a vampire to permit passage, which automatically allows you to become a Vampire Lord. And then, regardless of which side yous choose, y'all can yet become a Vampire Lord. The only deviation is when along the questline you become one. So for those of you who actually wanted to bring together the Dawnguard but didn't because they wanted to become a Vampire Lord, you tin go i and even so join the Dawnguard.
However, I do not know if the Dawnguard permit you to keep that power, since I haven't gotten that far along in the questline. I will mail an update in one case I find out.

Hey Tony, i've just finished the Dawnguard questline and i won't spoil anytihing for you don't worry. As information technology turns out (mini spoiler) - that Serana sticks round after the questline is finished and basically withal offers te chace to become a vampire. Hope this helps.

She's a Pureblood, so I'd assume you lot'd get a Vampire Lord.

Oh deplorable forgot to mention, yeah full vampire lord! Plus i was already a werewolf and so that's not an issue either and i think (but im not sure) yous can be cured and then turn over again and again too!

Okay, I have a few more updates. I foud out that the Dawnguard volition not assistance you if you decide to go a Vampire (aforementioned as the way the Blades won''t aid yous unless you impale Paarthurnax, except at that place's no dialogue whatsoever). However, you tin can become a vampire lord again whenever you want to by having Serana transform you back. Then y'all can complete the main questline in Dawnguard, and then forget most the Dawnguard altogether and remain a vampire lord.
Also, I could really utilise some help with summoning the Reaper in the Soul Cenotaph.

Yes, you become a vampire lord and not just a regular vampire. Too, after she tells you lot that the process of turning someone into a vampire is somewhat intimate, and you have the option to tell Serana that yous're glad she's the 1 doing it (though I don't know and kind of doubt that option exists if your characters female, but it does exists for males).

It is very interesting.
That way y'all tin fully enjoy teh whole DLC without having to recreate a new graphic symbol to do the other side of the DLC.

This thread should be in the Dawnguard section though.

The Reaper can be summoned past collecting 3 reaper gem fragments dotted around the soul cairn. They are located in chests on summit of various buildings that have one of the behemothic glowing soul gems that suck the life out of you floating above. I tin't remember which floating gems they're nether though i'chiliad afraid, simply they're big, easy to see and there'southward non that many of them so it won't take long. Once you've got them, you need to go to the Reapers' lair on the very Right (East) side of the map, on the 2d side of the wall, but to the left of i of the keepr towers.
The problem is whether you detect it worth it to even summoon the reaper, he's basically a darker version of a keeper that after you've destroyed, he just explodes and drops zippo only a grand soul precious stone, a bit of gilt, a potion and an iron warhammer. Still a slightly interesting fight though if y'all can spare the fourth dimension.

Do you lot besides get access to the residual of the castle or simply the Soul Cenotaph room?
And if you go admission to the castle as well, which is the ameliorate hangout the dawnguard castle or vampire castle?

After finishing the dawnguard questline, you do get access to the soul cairn room equally it'southward actually a seperate part of the castle then you can go back someday. Also you can come and go from castle volkhier as much as you want likewise, but it might not be worth living at that place every bit information technology's pretty much deserted after all the vampires have been killed plus every item, bed, chiffonier and chest in at that place are counted as owned belongings. So y'all can't sleep at that place or take anytihing if stealing things bothers you (e.g. the item being displayed in red constantly and simply can be sold to certain people etc.)
But the castle is far better furnished (although covered in blood) than fort dawnguard as nigh of the cobwebs remain in information technology fifty-fifty when every quest for them is washed.

Hey guys I would really capeesh the help if someone could tell me how to fix this. Whenever I entered the soul cairn with my soul partially trapped it gave my character a weird effect. It seems if he's burning with barely visible blue flames and makes a really annoying burning noise continuously. And makes my controller vibrate non-stop. Please help and tell me how to terminate it, I've washed all I could find out.

Hullo Brina!
Yep, one time you choose the Dawnguard, you can become a Vampire Lord in gild to enter the Soul Cairn, although you don't accept to. And once you become a Vampire Lord, yous can no longer do any of the Dawnguard'due south quests. You can cure yourself past doing the quest "Ascent At Dawn" in Morthal (the same manner equally curing regular vampirism). And once the Dawnguard questline is over, you can return to being a Vampire Lord anytime yous want by having Serana turn yous. You lot withal won't exist ableto help the Dawnguard until you cure yourself again, then you lot can continue to switch between being a Vampire Lord and helping the Dawnguard. Nevertheless, Serana can be cured, meaning she woouldn't be able to turn y'all after that.

How-do-you-do just a tad bit confused hither. I KNOW that aela only offers werewolf form once afterwards yous become a vampire, simply does serana offer it infinitely? If i call up i think she does but i just want to make sure. thanks!
